Piotr Pyc – oboe / cor anglais. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Kraków, where he was in Professor Jerzy Kotyczka's class, with distinction. Then he started to work as first oboe in the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice. Since the 2004, he has been an oboist and a soloist (cor anglais) of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice..

As an orchestral musician he took part in over 1500 concerts, working with many ensembles – The Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Sopot and Sinfonietta Cracovia to name a few. He performed under the baton of such maestro conductors as Marin Alsop, Lawrence Foster, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Charles Dutoit, Simone Young, Gabriel Chmura, Christian Eschenbach, Lorin Maazel, Jerzy Semkow, Krzysztof Penderecki.

He is very active in soloist and chamber ensemble fields. He took part in numerous music festivals, including Nordsee and Schwetzinger Festspiele in Germany, as well as Warszawska Jesień (Warsaw Autumn). As a soloist, he recorded a concert by Stanisław Skrowaczewski for Medici.tv.

Teaching is an important part of his work. Piotr Pyc is also associated with the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he works as a university professor, teaching the oboe class. His students win laurels at national and international competitions. He lectures master classes and serves on the jury of many competitions dedicated to wind instruments. From 2021, consultant of the Artistic Education Center and expert of the Ministry of National Education and Science. In 2023, he was awarded the rank of professor of art. and was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland.
